Exploring the feasibility of a potential Lung Cancer Screening Program – Summary Report
On 2 May 2023, the Hon Mark Butler, Minister for Health and Aged Care announced a National Lung Cancer Screening Program which will lead to the early detection of lung cancer in Australians and save lives. The first new national cancer screening program in nearly 20 years will commence screening by July 2025. The program will target high-risk individuals to detect lung cancer in its early stages to increase the likelihood of successful treatment and improve lung cancer outcomes.

Report on the National Pancreatic Cancer Roadmap
The National Pancreatic Cancer Roadmap (Roadmap) has been developed by Cancer Australia to improve outcomes and survival for Australians affected by pancreatic cancer. The Roadmap identifies 33 key priority areas and 60 strategies for collective action over the next five years to 2027, across the continuum of pancreatic cancer care, and sets a shared agenda to drive improvements in pancreatic care, experience and outcomes. It is available as a digital resource at National Pancreatic Cancer Roadmap.

Utilisation of telehealth services for Professional Attendances for cancer-related services January 2020 to September 2021: Nationally and by population group
Towards understanding the utilisation of telehealth services for cancer-related services consultations in Australia, this report examined Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) data on services for Professional Attendances for selected specialists and consultant physician provider speciality types. This report provides findings on the uptake of telehealth delivery methods compared with face-to-face methods, and trends in the use of telehealth over the 21-month period from January 2020 to September 2021, nationally and for population groups including age, remoteness area, socioeconomic status area and jurisdiction.

This report provides findings from an analysis of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) data to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on cancer-related medical services and procedures in Australia. This report examines the cumulative number of services observed for January 2020 to December 2020, compared to the expected number of services expected from trends in historical numbers for the period 2017–2019, for 14 cancer types: breast, colorectal, lung, prostate, melanoma, stomach, kidney, pancreatic, liver, uterine, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, and vulval cancer.
