$3.5 million to fund new or expanded innovative clinical trials in brain cancer applications now open

Applications are open for the inaugural year of the Australian Brain Cancer Mission’s competitive grants round. Applications are called for under the Medical Research Future Fund’s (MFRR) Rare Cancers, Rare Diseases and Unmet Need Clinical Trials Program.

Through this funding round the Australian Government and co-investors of the Australian Brain Cancer Mission - Carries Beanies 4 Brain Cancer and the Mark Hughes Foundation – are providing up to $3.5 million to support clinical trials in brain cancer.

The Mission is seeking to fund new or expanded innovative clinical trials that could involve international collaborations to support increased and equitable access and participation in clinical trials for people with brain cancer.

The clinical trial should:

  • Be for children, adolescents or young adults, or adults with malignant brain cancer; and
  • Support increased and equitable access and participations

The clinical trial may be in the areas of:

  • Diagnosis
  • Treatment
  • Cancer Control, Survivorship and Outcomes

The grant applications will close on 15 August 2018.
