Lung Cancer Forum for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers

Lung cancer is the most common cancer in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. To help raise awareness about the disease, Cancer Australia is hosting a free one day forum for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers. 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hospital Liaision Officers and community health workers who want to learn more about lung cancer are also invited to attend.

When:  31 October 2014

Where:  National Convention Centre, Canberra

Time:     8.30am – 3pm

The forum will provide information on:

  • what to look for and how to support people in the community with lung cancer
  • resources for health workers and the community on lung cancer
  • the different roles of health professionals involved in cancer care
  • the personal story of a lung cancer survivor

Costs for travel and accommodation may be covered by Cancer Australia in certain circumstances.  Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
