2024 Supporting People with Cancer Grant Initiative – Announcement of grant recipients

Cancer Australia has announced the 2024 recipients for the Supporting People with Cancer (SPWC) Grant Initiative, established to fund evidence-based projects that improve the wellbeing and outcomes of people with cancer. A total of $0.52 million dollars was awarded to five community organisations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations to support people affected by cancer.

The Grant recipients are:

  1. Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre: Increasing cancer screening and treatment rates in the Tasmanian Aboriginal community
  2. Danila Dilba Butji Binnilutlum Health Service: Streamlining cultural safe cancer care for Danila Dilba
  3. EACH: A cancer screening, education, and care coordination program for two priority populations in the Eastern Melbourne region
  4. Head and Neck Cancer Australia: Expanding access: Improving equity and bridging gaps in head and neck cancer support across Australia
  5. So Brave: Cancer in young women – survivorship and mental health
