The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Registered Training Organisations Grant initiative aims to improve the skills and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers in breast cancer treatment and care.

Building on Cancer Australia’s existing breast cancer unit of competency for Aboriginal Health Workers, successful RTO’s will be provided with the tools to deliver the newly accredited unit of competency ‘Providing information and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women with breast cancer’. RTO’s will also be provided with practical support to assist in the delivery of the unit of competency, including a learners handbook, learners guide and facilitators guide.

Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) who deliver the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care qualification and are members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Registered Training Organisation National Network (ATSIHRTONN) are invited to apply.

The call for applications will close at 2pm (AEDST) 10 July 2012. Successful grants will also be announced in July 2012.
