Paget’s disease of the nipple (also known as Paget’s disease of the breast or mammary Paget’s disease) is a rare type of cancer involving: 

• the skin of the nipple  
• often the darker circle of skin around it, called the areola. 

Most people with Paget’s disease of the breast also have a tumour inside the same breast. These breast tumours are usually either DCIS or invasive breast cancer.^[8]
