Consumer participation in Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme (PdCCRS)

Grant Review Committees

As part of our goal to meaningfully involve people affected by cancer into the agency’s work program, Cancer Australia has provided training to consumers in how to review the responses to the PdCCRS Questions for applications submitted to the Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme.

This training has been offered since 2008 and consumers are selected through a national, open, merit-based application process which is advertised through a call for Expression-of-Interest every second year. The consumers receive training over two days. In alternate years, Cancer Australia offers refresher training for those consumers that have previously completed the training.  Consumers trained in reviewing PdCCRS Questions are eligible to participate as members of Cancer Australia’s PdCCRS Grant Review Committees.
