How is breast cancer diagnosed?

Early detection of breast cancer through self-awareness and regular screening is crucial for effective treatment, as it allows for early diagnosis and appropriate management.

Finding breast cancer early while it is small and has not spread, provides the best chance of effective treatment. So it’s important to be breast aware and participate in breast screening.  

If the mammogram and ultrasound find something unusual, you might need to have further diagnostic tests to confirm whether you have breast cancer, and to help your doctor determine the next steps of your management.
