Cancer data is key to improving cancer outcomes. Improving collection/ access/ analysis and reporting of national cancer data will help better understand unwarranted variations in cancer outcomes across the Australian population.

In order to achieve this goal, Cancer Australia is undertaking two flagship projects:

The Australian Real World Evidence Network for Cancer (Pan Cancer)

Cancer Australia has partnered with The Movember Foundation on ‘The Australian Real World Evidence Network for Cancer (Pan Cancer)’.

This project aims to improve cancer care through the routine collection and use of Patient Reported Experience Measures and Patient Reported Outcome Measures, allowing the unique needs of each individual to be addressed, and leveraging the data driven insights to optimise care delivery and patient outcomes.

This project supports the five-year goal of the Australian Cancer Plan, Action 4.5.1: ‘Design and embed patient reported experience and patient reported outcomes into national performance monitoring and reporting for all providers, to assess services for all population groups and establish and evidence base’,

The Pan Cancer project is a $22.5 million co-investment partnership between Movember and Cancer Australia. $17.5 million has been invested by Movember. $5 million has been invested by the Australian Government.
