Screening

There are no recommended screening tests for kidney cancer in people who are at average risk.

People who are at increased risk of kidney cancer because of inherited conditions or because they are on long-term dialysis for kidney disease can be regularly screened for kidney tumours using imaging tests such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or ultrasound scans.
