Screening

There is no national screening program for bladder cancer in Australia, but some high-risk individuals may be recommended for certain tests, such as those used to diagnose bladder cancer or detect blood in the urine.

There is currently no national screening program for bladder cancer in Australia.  

In some cases, certain tests might be recommended for some people who are at very high risk, such as those who have had bladder cancer before or who have certain birth defects affecting the bladder [1]. These tests may include those used to diagnose bladder cancer (cytoscopy and urine cytology). Tests for blood in the urine might also be carried out [1]. 

Cancer Australia
