Release of resources to support improved management of lung cancer in Australia

Release Date

Lung cancer is responsible for a high burden of disease and poor outcomes for those affected. Cancer Australia has undertaken research to inform best practice service delivery approaches for lung cancer care relevant to the Australian context. The research included a literature review, a comprehensive, national consultation with health services and people affected by lung cancer, and mapping of lung cancer services across Australia. Cancer Australia is now releasing the following two reports:

Best practice approaches to lung cancer care: A review of the literature

Best practice approaches to the management of lung cancer in Australia

The findings from this research were used as the basis for the development of Principles for best practice management of lung cancer in Australia, including elements and outcomes required to support an evidence-based approach for lung cancer care.
